Shaeed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh State Youth Award

- Aim
To give reorganization at the state level to the outstanding work done by
the youth of the Punjab in youth programmes, Blood Donation, Social Service,
Adventure activities etc. State youth award scheme was started in 1985.
- Eligibility
Youth should be between the ages of 18-35 years and should be a domicile of
the Punjab State. These awards are given on merit basis to two youth from
each district.
- Selection Committee
The youth are considered for the awards by a selection committee duly constituted
by the state Govt. on the basis of their performance as per the approved criteria.
The state level selection committee is chaired by the chief secretary, Punjab.
- Prizes
The Youth selected for state youth awards are given cash, a scroll,
a medal & a certificate.
- Information
Advertisement is given in various Newspapers every year for obtaining applications
from the eligible youth.
- Location
The State Youth Award is given at the state level function organized
at Chandigarh or any other place as decided by the Department.
- Expenditure
Selected youth are permitted to bring 5 members of their family in the function
& free boarding & lodging & bus fare of the both side is given
by the Department.

- General
i. The Youth must secure minimum of 20 marks for this award according
to criteria.
ii. Youth should have at least participated in three different Youth
activities.
iii. Youth activities are undertaken purely on voluntary basis.
iv. At least five applications from each District should be sent for
consideration of awards.
