The Department Concerned:
 Directorate Of Animal Husbandry,Punjab

Scope of Service:
(a) Animal Health - To provide Animal Health care & Preventive Vaccination againt highly contagious diseases like H.S.,FMD,etc.
(b) Animal Production - Artificial Insemination to upgrade the existing germ plasm of the Cattle , Buffalo with superior quality germ plasm through      scientific breeding using frozen seemen technology.
(c) Poultry Development - Increase in egg & meat production by providing technical knowhow for better production and disease control.
(d) Piggery Development - By introducing superior quality germ plasm in existing stock.
(e) Sheep And Wool Development - By using superior germ plasm by introducing Corridale and Rambullett breeds in the state.
(f)  Fodder Development : By introducing high yielding fodder crop seeds.

Eligibility Conditions:
Training is provided to all the farmers of the state with the objectives to educate the rural masses regarding improved methods and technical knowhow.
    All livestock owners / beneficiaries interested in livestock raising and ready to adopt this profession.

1. Animal Health Programme - Short term training programme , educating the farmers in up keeping their livestock and scientific breeding like are     being conducted by the department.
2. Animal Production - Short term trainings are being arranged for breed improvement and their upkeeping are conducted by the department.
3. Poultry Development - Short term training courses for 10 - 15 days are being conducted by the Poultry Inspector posted at tehsil t level in the     state. o adopt poultry production as an alternative profession.
4. Piggery Development - Short term courses are run by the department for the beneficiaries who want to adopt the piggery as profession.    These courses are run at the six Piggery Farms namely Chajju Majra , Gurdaspur , Nabha , Jalandhar , Mattewara , Malwal.
5. Fodder Development - Fodder Development training programme are arranged for preserving excess fodder and enriching poor quality fodder     with urea treatment and to encourage the farmers high production camps.

Step by step Procedure:
For inviting training and announcement regarding the scheme and training is imparted to the vaterinary institutions as per their programme.Awareness Camps are beng organised regarding improved methods in Animal Husbandry.

Format of Application Forms Required:
A simple application with full detail is required . A helpline is also made available at Block,Tehsil,District for the registration of farmers.

PIG 7 Days 15 Each

6. Hospitals are directed to implement all the schemes at grass route level.

Fee prescribed for the service if any
At present no fees is being charged under any scheme for imparting training to the farmers of the state.

Points for Citizen's Charter
To provide efficient health cover and management practices to the precious livestock of the state and to train the farmers some Performa's have been developed for the convinience of livestock keepers. these Performa's are available on our Website www.husbandry.punjab.org.

Common problems being faced by the Government
Adequate funds not available.
