Under this Category, Information about some Centrally Sponsored Schemes during the year 2002-03 & 2003-04 (Up to November, 2003), such as Sampoorna Gramin Rozgar Yojana ,Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana ,Indira Awaas Yojna ,Special Project under SGSY , Swaran Jayantee Gram Swarozgar Yojana and Integrated Wasteland Development Project, is provided.

  Following are the services available

Sampoorna Gramin Rozgar Yojana
 
Sampoorna Gramin Rozgar Yojana was launched on 25 September, 2001 with the objective of providing food security, generation of additional wage employment and village infrastructure at the same time in the rural areas.The program will be implemented as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme on cost sharing basis between the Centre and the States in the ratio of 75:25 of the cash component of the program.

Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana
 
Housing is a basic requirement for human well-being. Not only do all citizens need shelter, they also require in their houses such facilities as drinking water and proper sanitation. It is towards this end that a new initiative has been taken up ,as part of the Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana (PMGY) in the field of provision of Rural Shelter which is focussed to extend benefits to the rural poor.

Indira Awaas Yojna
 
The objective of Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) is primarily to help construction of dwelling units as well as construction of unserviceable Kutcha Houses into Pucca/ Semi Pucca houses by members of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes, freed bonded labourers and also non-SC/ST rural poor below the poverty line by extending them grant-in-aid.

Special Project Under SGSY
 
During the year 2001-2002, under SGSY scheme, Government of India has sanctioned the special projects in 5 districts namely Amritsar ,Gurdaspur ,Ferozepur ,Bathinda and Muktsar amounting to Rs.3888.20 lac .Rs. 935.94 lac have been released by Govt. of India to these districts.

Integrated Wastelands Development Project
 
The Integrated Wastelands Development Project Scheme strives to develop non-forest wasteland on village/ micro-watershed basis. The scheme also helps generate employment in rural areas besides, enhancing people's participation in wasteland development leading to equitable sharing of benefits and sustainable development.

Swaran Jayantee Gram Swarozgar Yojana
 
Launched on Ist April 1999 ,the programme replaces the earlier self-employment and allied programmes- IRDP,TRYSEM ,DWCRA, SITRA, GKY, MWS.The objective of SGSY is to provide sustainable income to the rural poor. The programme aims at establishing a large number of micro- enterprises in the rural areas, building upon the potential of the rural poor .It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme and funding is shared by the Centre and State Governments in the ratio of 75:25 .
